Judith Owens is Chief Executive of TBL International Ltd (TBL), the management company that operates Titanic Belfast, SS Nomadic and the Titanic Slipways. With over 30 years’ experience, Judith is one of the UK’s most accomplished leaders in Venue & Attractions Management, Tourism and Events. Under her leadership, since its opening in 2012 Titanic Belfast has welcomed more than 9.5 million visitors from 145 countries, won the title of ‘World’s Leading Tourist Attraction,’ and been awarded 2 THEA Awards for Outstanding Achievement, one in 2012 and one in 2024. The attraction has contributed £430 million in additional spend to the Northern Ireland economy in its first decade with an estimated annual contribution of over 70 – 80 million.
Judith led the £4.7 million transformation of the Titanic Experience in 2023, further establishing its status as a world-class, immersive attraction. A passionate ambassador for tourism, she was a founding member of the Northern Ireland Tourism Alliance, holding the position of Chair for 4 years, currently on the board of Visit Belfast, Judith has also served on the board of the Association of Leading Visitor Attractions (ALVA), Association of Visitor Experiences and Attractions (AVEA) and co-founded the Hospitality and Tourism Skills (HATS) network to help attract and retain talent in the sector.
Previously, Judith was TBL’s Operations Director and also worked in various management positions for 14 years at the Waterfront & Ulster Hall. Judith is a passionate advocate for accessible and sustainable tourism, as well as her dedication and strategic vision, she continues to drive innovation and excellence across the tourism sector in Northern Ireland.
