Paul J Ralph, FRSA

Author, Consultant and founder of “Blindly Wheeling”

Paul is an access and inclusion specialist driven by a genuine love for crafting visitor experiences where everyone truly feels they belong.

As a wheelchair user, he blends lived experience with more than four decades of work in and around disability issues, drawing on a rich tapestry of professional insight that spans social work, technology, hospitality and inclusive tourism.

For over twenty years he practised as a social worker specialising in physical and sensory impairment, supporting individuals and families through some of their most demanding moments. He then moved into disability information provision, assistive technology development and the creation of tools that empower and inform disabled people on a daily basis.

His leadership was further demonstrated when he became Managing Director of Scotland’s first Community Interest Company, steering a social enterprise model that placed inclusive practice at its core.

Paul is the author of “Access All Areas: Inclusive Tourism in Practice” and its companion titles, which combine practical guidance, humour and real world stories to help organisations progress beyond mere compliance toward genuinely memorable, inclusive welcomes.

He has partnered with global brands, heritage attractions and visitor destinations. Everything from whisky distilleries and cultural landmarks to festivals and sporting events. Each time, showcasing how thoughtful accessibility can turn an ordinary visit into an unforgettable story. For more than a decade he has also worked with Euan’s Guide, the UK disabled‑access charity, first as Access and Inclusion Director and now as a Trustee.

Through his consultancy “Blindly Wheeling”, Paul advises organisations across the UK and beyond, unlocking the social and economic benefits of inclusive design.

His approach is rooted in mutual respect, collaboration and a healthy dose of humour, because, as he maintains, inclusion should be as joyful as it is practical.
